Great Work this week! We kicked off the fundraiser, had a pep rally, and have the drill to 2/3rd of the show on the field. Bravo!

We will begin focusing on All-Region/Semester Solos more this week. Be prepared to have you first pass-recording submitted this week.

Friday is our first football game, and we are also likely to have our first stadium rehearsal this week on Wednesday. More details below:

Cycle 1, Week 3 (A Week): August 26 - September 1

  • Monday

    • After School rehearsal from 3:30-5:30

  • Tuesday

    • Free

  • Wednesday

    • Part 2 Pass-Offs due in class

    • After School Rehearsal from 4:00-7:00 at Williams Stadium

      • Bus departs NFHS at 3:15, You may drive yourself. Make sure your ride picks you up from Williams Stadium after we load the trailer

  • Thursday

    • After School Rehearsal from 3:30-6:30

  • Friday (A Day)

    • First Snare Solo Pass Off recording due

    • Football Game at Grand Prairie from 3:00pm-11pm

  • Saturday

    • Drill Camp from 7:00am-10:00am at Naaman

  • Sunday

    • Free

Vertical Raise - Band Fundraiser

We have had a great start to our fundraiser! Let’s keep up the work to win the incentives and make more money for the band program!

All families should have 20 quality contacts. A quality contact is a friend, family member or co-worker that would be interested in supporting your participation in band. At this point, enter your contact email addresses and phone numbers directly on the vertical raise website.

Upcoming Assignments and Grades

  • Students will pass off Part 2 and Warm-Up Set 2 in class on Wednesday.

  • All-Region Pass Offs will be due via video submission by August 31. Students will need a recording of 1/2 of the All-Region Snare solo/Semester solo and upload the video to a google drive folder I have created. I will be sending a link to that folder this week via Remind.

  • The monthly student-run sectional rehearsal is due by the end of this week. This is a major grade. Students are expected to find a convenient time for your section to rehearse at least 20 minutes. Please talk to me before the sectional and after it is completed so that we can gauge your goals and progress.

  • Students will have a supply check in class on Friday. Students need a binder with all course handouts and a flip folder with all current music.

Football Game Details - Friday, August 30 at Grand Prairie (Gopher-Warrior Bowl Stadium @ Grand Prairie HS)

  • 3:00/3:30 - Game Day Show Run Through

  • 4:15ish - Load Trailer

  • 4:30 - Dinner, Dress, Creed Pass offs

  • 5:30 - Load Buses, Depart

  • 7:00 - Game time, performing the spirit show at halftime

  • 10:30/11:00 - Anticipated return/dismissal time from NFHS

Attire is the Green Shirt, Black Shorts, and Drill Master Shoes

Parents! The Gopher-Warrior Bowl stadium has a clear bag policy.

1st and 6th Period, be prepared to go outside during class

We will be going outside during class on Monday, Tuesday and Friday this week. Please make sure you have appropriate clothes and water for warm weather. Time will be given during class to change into more comfortable clothing to wear for the remainder of the day.
